The player’s role in "Dear Rosa" is to delve into the protagonist's inner being and confront the corrupted, void filled parts of their body - the Head, Heart, and Gut. Using our three brains - cephalic, cardiac, and enteric – the player will explore the stories and struggles tied to each part of our bodies.

The Head, burdened by a sense of limitation and unfulfilled desires, symbolizes the protagonist's longing for new experiences. They long for the freedom to explore unfamiliar paths as they are stuck in a stagnant routine. They discover through the game's narrative that their choices and actions shape their journey, freeing them from the belief in curses and empowering them to make their own decisions.

The Heart represents the protagonist's emotional core, like an old building undergoing transformation. The "void contraption" reflects the cold realities of their emotional life and acts as a mechanism to fill the negative emotional moments they have faced. This allows them to regain an emotional foundation, allowing them to function and view the world differently.

The Gut, a symbol of harmony and loyalty, is inspired by the dove, which symbolizes the protagonist's parents' mostly peaceful relationship. Through a resounding coo, the protagonist finds healing through being heard, their voice echoing into the depths of their being.
